Zusammenfassung: Um die Sinnhaftigkeit der Anwendung der Pelotte an der Einlage herrscht derzeit eine aktuelle Diskussion. Ärzte der orthopädischen Disziplin sowie Orthopädieschuhtechniker diskutieren miteinander über die Anwendung, die Indikation und den Nutzen dieses Zusatzes. Am häufigsten eingesetzt wird die Pelotte bei der Diagnosestellung Metatarsalgie. Die Pelotte existiert in verschiedenen Formen und bietet damit unterschiedliche Varianten der Unterstützung. Kontraproduktiv kann sie bei der (möglicherweise unerkannten) Diagnose Morton-Neurom sein. Zur Verordnung einer Pelotte bedarf es einer gründlichen Untersuchung und Diagnostik. Der Beratungsausschuss für Orthopädie-Schuhmacherhandwerk der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Orthopädie und Orthopädische Chirurgie (DGOOC) hat sich bereits um die Empfehlung von Anwendungssituationen sowie die Formulierung von Kontraindikationen bemüht. Summary: Regarding the sense of the application of the pad, we are recently facing a debate. Amongst doctors of the orthopaedic discipline and orthopedic shoe technicians the application, the indication and the benefits of this addition are discussed. The diagnosis the pad is most often used for is the metatarsalgia. The pad exists in various forms and thus offers different possibilities of support. In the case of a (possibly unrecognized) Morton’s neuroma, the pad can be a missbenefit. The prescription of a pad requires a thorough examination and diagnosis. The advisory committee of Orthopaedic shoemakers German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC) has already tried the recommendation of application situations and the formulation of contraindications. The following article carries them out, provides parts of the current debate and concludes with a suggestion for practice.
