Patienten sollten über die durchschnittlich zu erwartende Dauer bis zur Arbeitsfähigkeit individuell informiert werden. Eventuell vorhandene Risikofaktoren sollten dahingehend besprochen werden, dass die Dauer der Arbeitsunfähigkeit auch länger als 3 Monate nach arthroskopischer Acromioplastik und länger als 9 Monate nach arthroskopischer Rotatorenmanschettennaht betragen kann. Nicht unerwähnt bleiben darf der Hinweis, dass eine Arbeitsfähigkeit in manchen Fällen nicht erreicht wird. Die zu erwartende Dauer der Arbeitsunfähigkeit sollte wegen möglicher Verdienstausfälle und Beschäftigungsrisiken auch bei der Indikationsstellung berücksichtigt werden.
